Terms of Service

Effective July 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of the worldboss Discord bot (“worldboss”, “the bot”) and this website. By adding the bot to a server or using its commands, you agree to them.

What worldboss is

worldboss is a game: an asynchronous, communal weekly boss fight that runs inside a Discord server. It is a free, open-source hobby project — not a commercial service — and is operated by an individual, not a company.

Eligibility

You may use worldboss only if you can lawfully use Discord, which means you also agree to Discord's own Terms of Service and meet Discord's minimum age requirement. Server admins are responsible for the channels they configure the bot into.

Rules of conduct

Play the game as a person, not a program. You agree not to:

• Automate commands, self-bot, or script interactions with worldboss
• Exploit bugs to gain Valor, loot, or damage — report them instead
• Use the bot to harass others or to break Discord's Community Guidelines
• Attempt to disrupt the service or access data that isn't yours

Valor, loot, and other virtual things

Valor, loot, trophies, titles, and everything else the game hands out are fictional and worthless by design. They cannot be purchased with money, cannot be cashed out, redeemed, sold, or transferred outside the game, and have no monetary value. The in-game dice games wager only this fictional currency; worldboss involves no real-money gambling. Game balances may be adjusted or reset when required by bugs, exploits, or game-design changes.

Availability

worldboss is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind. It may change, break, lose a week of progress, or shut down entirely at any time. Reasonable care is taken — durable storage, backups, a lot of tests — but no uptime or data-retention commitment is made.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of worldboss is not liable for any damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the bot or this website. Since the service is free, you agree that your exclusive remedy for any dispute is to stop using it.

Termination

You can stop using worldboss at any time by removing it from your server. The operator may suspend or ban users or servers that break these terms, and may discontinue the service at any time.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the bot after a change means you accept the new terms.
